MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
Leif Engstrom
World renowned professional surfer & Montauk native Leif Engstrom was surfing Tres Palmas on the nose of his fathers surfboard before he could even walk. Aside from the time on the road competing and building his professional surfing career, Leif spent most of his summers in Montauk enjoying all that it has to offer & winters in Puerto Rico chasing huge waves & slaying fish. Not much has changed over the years besides traveling the globe a few more times, Leif is still chasing his dreams, one wave at a time.
Ariel Engstrom
Ariel grew up in the waters of Montauk sharing waves with her twin sister Alexis. Throughout their childhood the twins would share their time playing in the waves in Rincon, Puerto Rico and Montauk, New York. Ariel competed in surf competitions up until college where she lived in Hawaii gathering a wealth of knowledge in bigger waves and strong currents. No longer in the competitive circle of surfing, Ariel enjoys chasing big waves in Puerto Rico & Hawaii or cruising down the line on her longboard in Montauk.
Alexis Engstrom
Alexis (twin sister to Ariel) grew up with a smile on her face and a constant laugh in her voice. Alexis and her twin started surfing around the age of 5 years old, thanks for their ocean loving parents, Greg & Kathleen. The twins grew up surfing in Montauk, New York & Rincon, Puerto Rico from childhood to present day. Alexis has always had a competitive heart and has had a successful surf career with wins in the pro circuit of surfing. With a strong style and powerful turns, Alexis stands out while in the line up.
